We were running around Cascade High School in Turner again last week. We're seeing a lot of sports seniors from there this year.  Nate is a runner, both long distance and track. He also spends a lot of time hunting with his family.

We chose to photograph Cole's baseball images first because he wanted a strong gritty look and I knew that to do it right we were going to have to use studio strobes lighting.  Studio strobes are the greatest asset a photographer has (next to his/her brain of course).  With studio strobes you can basically change and override any natural light situation giving you maximum flexibility and creative control.  Cole's a pitcher so we sent him to the mound and began setting up two lights around him.

 She’s also a country girl from Sweet Home, Oregon so we decided to capture senior pictures that reflected her home town.  To do that we found a strange little western ghost town just east of Sweet Home and decided to shoot there.  It was a bit creepy but it was like having a movie set at our disposal.

Our second location for the day was the All Nations Native American Veterans Memorial in Jefferson Oregon.  This Memorial celebrates Native Americans that gave their lives in battle while fighting for our country. Because of Madison's Native American background The curators of this memorial / museum were gracious enough to allow us to shoot at their location.  Now let me back up a tad.  To just say that they were gracious would be a huge understatement.  The good folks at the All Nations Native American Veterans Memorial provided us with the use of their hand crafted leather dresses, hand beaded necklaces, an authentic Tepee and even a live wolf.
