First Birthday Cake Smash

Mr. Daniel came to us... well actually his mother did because a random baby just walking into our office would be a bit strange.  So Daniel's mom came to our studio looking to do a cake smash and family portrait session combo.  which worked out perfectly because that's what we prefer to do with all cake smash sessions.  Before we introduce the cake we usually take time to shoot a mini family session.  Including family portraits in a cake smash session is a great way to really celebrate the first birthday milestone while documenting you family at that stage in your lives.  We highly encourage at least a few family pictures before the main event.

Family Pictures brothers

During the family session we captured some great images of Daniel and his big brother.  You can tell just by looking at these two that they are already incredibly close and seeing it just melted my heart.  After the family pictures it was time for the main event!

We busted out the cake and got down to the serious business of smashing it!  Sometimes kids immediately obliterate the cake, and other times (like this one) they carefully examine it for a while.  Daniel was defiantly a tad more reserved in his approach to cake demolition.  He had all the precision of a professional demolition expert taking the project in carefully thought-out stages.  Perhaps he'll grow up to be an engineer?  But regardless of his meticulous approach to pastry pummeling he got the job done and we created some wonderful images.
