I'm really not sure what to say about the Wallace family. :)  These guys were immediately an open book.  Sure there was a "getting used to the camera" warm up period but after that, these guys were off-the-charts fun.  Thank goodness we chose the wide open spaces of Bryant Park to shoot at because once the Wallace boys got comfortable they were off to the races.  They were running around having a blast tossing a giant photo reflector around like a Frisbee and generally doing what kids do.  At this point mom and dad were a little concerned but honestly with high energy children it's all about directing the energy rather than trying to stop it.  The most genuine smiles come from when kids are having fun. 

I occasionally start a game of catch with my reflectors because the kids can't hurt them.  After that the kids realize I'm there to play it changes the whole dynamic of the shoot.  We get some great images out of them.  As a bonus, by the time we're done with the photo shoot the kids are exhausted from having fun and usually fall asleep in the car.  It's win-win!

While the children were playing Frisbee with my photo assistant (Yes, I always shoot with an assistant.) I stole mom and dad for some couples portraits.  You'd be surprised how many people haven't had a couples portrait.  You'd be more surprised by the amount of people who are shocked when I suggest they take one.  I mean I'm already there with the camera in hand!  Why not, right?  So for the rest of you out there, if you schedule a family portrait session with Troutman Photography - Mom and Dad will be expected to take some pictures too.  :)  The Wallace's were totally up for it and were fantastic sports.  I love seeing couples that are not afraid to express their feelings for each other in front of the camera.

I also love seeing dads that are head over heels in love with their kids.  Mr. Wallace was completely comfortable snuggling and rough housing with his boys in front of the camera.  The minute he busted out the noogies I knew we were going to create some amazing photos.  And we did!

We had a really good time working with the Wallace family at Bryant Park in Albany.  We created some great images.  We ran around playing Frisbee in the sunshine AND my assistant fell asleep in the car on the way home!
